Brandy Melville Shirt

Good morning and happy Sunday! I know Sunday's are the typical day where we relax in snuggle clothes and watch a few episodes of Gossip Girl on the couch. But today I thought I'd give you a little outfit inspo from earlier this week. I was feeling like trying out a style that I don't normally wear, and it was totally fun! I love trying out new trends. This is one I have definitely fallen in love with. It's definitely a style that is super popular now, but I had never really tried it out. And now I must say I'm hooked. It's super comfy! This shirt is soo soft! But that's how everything from Brandy Melville is :). The shorts aren't super tight or so short that they're riding up my butt (I'm sure you all know what I mean). My hair is out of my face! I hate having my hair in my face! I always end up putting it in a pony tail or braid by the end of the day. And then, comfy tennis shoes in a fun color to top it all off :) Overall, this outfit is totally a win for me.

That awkward moment when your neighbors totally stare at you for taking pictures of yourself....yes that happens, and it's soo uncomfortable haha.

Sisters on the Beach

Hellloooo! So today I was scrolling through the pictures on my laptop, as I like to do sometimes to just see how I have changed in the past few months (it is really crazy how much I have changed haha). But I saw that I hadn't posted all the pictures from my Port Clinton trip that I wanted to show you! So I immediately had to right that wrong and post these pictures. Especially the ones of Alyssa (my sister) and I. Because hello! She is too pretty to not show on the blog haha.

So indie, so Lys haha. My sister is obsessed with being 'indie'. And so I took this picture of her to satisfy her need to be indie haha. Needless to say, she posted this picture on Instagram minutes after I edited it :)

Tonight I'm going out to dinner with some of my sorority sisters! We are going to The Cheesecake Factory, and I am so excited! The calorie intake will be ridiculous, but that cheesecake is soo worth it every once in awhile. Mmmm yummy in my tummy! I should get some pictures from tonight, and hopefully I'll be able to show you tomorrow :) Hugs <3

Vintage Levis and Stripped Crop Top

Hello! First off, I'm so sorry I haven't posted the last two days! I had a chemistry exam today (which is finally over woohoo!!) that I really needed to put all my energy into studying for. I'm not sure it will pay off, but I worked my butt off. I just couldn't seem to grasp the material no matter how much I looked at it and practiced the calculations. Does that ever happen to you guys? It's seriously the worst! But now that it's over I can breathe again :). After I got home from class, I decided I really needed to put some effort into taking some cool pictures for you. So I hope you get inspired by this little outfit I put together. I think it's so cute! I actually stole this top from my sister's closet, and now I'm actually considering purchasing my own because I like it so much haha. And then of course, high waisted vintage Levis. I don't think anything says casual summer outfit better than these beauties.

Shorts are Vintage Levis from Etsy, Crop top from Forever21, Lipstick from Nars Color: Cruella

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Hugs <3

Stripped Tank Top

Hello readers! Today I'm going to give you an outfit post because I really haven't been doing much with my life besides working. And who really wants to hear about that? I took these pictures on the Fourth of July because I thought the blue and white tank top with the red shoes was so patriotic haha. Usually I'm not one to go with the whole American theme, but for those of you who love it, this is for you haha. I wish I could have worn this to the party I went to after work. But by the time I was ready to go, it had gotten quite chilly, and I was forced to wear long sleeves :(. But I absolutely love this tank top! Just check out that open back guys! It's just so pretty! I think it'll finally be getting warm enough the next few weeks were I can walk around in tank tops like this one and be comfortable. We've had a really cold summer here. Luckily it hasn't interferred too much with my tan haha.

Tank top from Urban Outfitters, shorts are old, shoes from Target

Gotta love those tan lines haha. Hugs <3

Summer Workout Routine

Hello! So today I thought I would show you some pictures of my workout routine that I do during the summer. For some reason I'm always in the best shape during the summer, therefore, I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite exercises :). Before you say, "But Jess, all these pictures were taken inside. I thought this was supposed to be a summer workout routine." It was raining like crazy all day yesterday (when I took these photos :/). I really was hoping that I would be able to give you some nice outside pictures, but mother nature said otherwise. And without further ado, let's get into it.

First off, I love listening to music while I run, especially when I run outside. However, if I'm using a treadmill I usually end up watching YouTube videos while I'm running. It makes the time go way faster!

If I work out, I almost always do some form of cardio. I typically workout 5-6 days a week, and most of those include cardio. However, I like to switch up the forms of cardio I do. If I'm running short on time, I do intervals on the treadmill. I put the treadmill on speed 7.8 mph, with an incline of 2.0. Then, for 20 minutes I run intervals. I'll run for 30 seconds, and then I use the bars to lift my feet off the conveyer belt and place them on the sides to rest for the next 30 seconds. It definitely makes you sweat, and you totally feel it afterwards. If I have more time or I feel like having an easier workout, I will usually take my dog on a 35-45 minute fast paced walk through my neighborhood. This is actually more tiring than it sounds haha. And then sometimes I just feel like going for a 25-30 minute jog through my neighborhood.

Tada! All done with running! No better feeling on the planet :)

Usually before I go to bed I do 50 squats and 50 calf raises. I cannot even say how much this really helps my legs and butt in the summer.

Some days I'll just do my favorite abs video and no cardio (or if I'm feeling really adventurous, I'll do both!). The video is the Insanity Workout Cardio Abs. I love it because it not only gives me amazing results (I mean I've never gotten a six-pack from it, but it totally helps reduce belly fat, and makes your core stronger), but it's also a full body workout. It incorporates a variety of movements that not only work your abs, but your entire core. Talk about a win! (I'm not actually watching the video in this picture. I just thought I would share one of the moves with you)

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! Have an awesome summer! (And yes, I did match my sport bra to my shorts haha no shame ;P) Hugs <3

Boho Romper

Hello readers!!! I have finally found a romper that fits me! You have no idea how long I have been looking for a romper that not only looks cute, but fits well. After a year of searching, I have finally achieved success!! I am sure many of you have experienced the same struggle when searching for rompers...unless you are just the luckiest person in the world...then please send some luck my way! Haha. So this beautiful piece is from Urban Outfitters. I got it when I went shopping at Crocker Park a few days ago. The pattern is a little more funky than I would normally wear, but I actually think it looks quite pretty :).

My 'I'm trying the be a serious blogger face' haha. But the strut was just so good I had to keep it.

My Favorite Breakfast

Good morning! I thought I'd share with you my new absolute favorite breakfast. It not only keeps me full for hours after I eat it, but it's really healthy too! Also, the combination may sound weird to you, but I promise it tastes amazing! So first I out my whole grain bread in the toaster for a few minutes. While that is toasting, I pour in enough olive oil to coat the pan. Then I crack my egg and into the pan it goes! I let that cook until the bottom is uniformly white. I then attempt to flip the egg over to make it over easy, but usually I end up failing miserably and breaking my yolk haha. It still tastes good anyway. By then my toast is done, and I spread a little less than half an avocado onto the toast. Just enough so that it covers the entire piece of toast. Finally I add my egg on top and viola! Amazing breakfast!
