Lululemon Jacket

Hello readers!! Today is going to be super fun and exciting! I am going to the Navy and Marine Corps 240th Birthday Ball. I get to wear a formal dress, and oh my gosh it's soo pretty! It was my prom dress my senior year of high school, and it was also one of my mom's formal dresses for an event she had a few years ago. Although I know it sounds old and kind of gross, I promise it is a gorgeous timeless dress. And I will show it to you tomorrow or Sunday :). And so the beautification process will begin shortly after I write this post haha.

This was my outfit today. Super comfy and super cute. I love going to class in my workout gear because it can be a little stylish, but so so so comfortable. Besides, I don't have anyone to impress when I go to class besides myself, so why dress up when I don't feel like it?? That is basically my rationale every morning haha. This jacket is new and from Lululemon. A store I absolutely love, except for the fact that their pricing is so high :'(. But every once in awhile I will splurge on something I really want. Anyways, I love this jacket :). It's super easy to throw on and just go out the door. My pants are just basic black leggings. I have my white baseball hat that just goes with everything (another item I love haha). I've also just tried the messy bun with the baseball hat, and I am a huge fan! I think it looks way better than a pony tail with my really long hair in a baseball hat. Sometimes I think my pony tail just looks sort of stringy?? I don't know, maybe I'm just picky haha. So thank you Alex Centomo for posting an Instagram picture with this look! And then my old Nike's. I have worn these tennis shoes so much they already have a hole in them, and I only got them last Christmas :/. I guess that's when you know you love a shoe haha. But I seriously wear these everywhere! I wear them to workout almost every day, plus around campus when I don't feel like looking super put together. So I guess that would explain why the hole is there haha.

Hope you have a lovely day! Hugs <3

No Makeup Monday...?

Heyyy! So this morning I woke up and I was so exhausted from the past five days of almost non-stop school work that I just decided to go back to sleep and leave the outfit pictures for tomorrow. This morning I decided to switch No Makeup Monday to No Makeup Wednesday haha. It doesn't have quite as nice of ring to it, but it will do :). Today I went with no makeup because why not? Haha. I love not wearing makeup everyday. I am one of those people who definitely loves to touch my face and rub my eyes, so even when I do wear makeup I tend to wear only a little. And not wearing anything on my face is almost freeing in a manner :). It's sort of like showing the world hey here I am! This is me! Every few days it's nice to just not care a little. Maybe tomorrow you will go without makeup and channel my renaming of No Makeup Monday to No Makeup Thursday? Haha anyway, have a super lovely day!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Hello there! I hope you're having a good day! Today all everyone can talk about is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and I think I am one of those people haha. Seeing all the behind the scenes pictures on Instagram and SnapChat...it just makes me super excited! My sorority sisters are all going to watch in the suite on December 8th when it airs. I can't wait! It should be a fun time. I've actually never watched the show before (I know, I know, am I even a girl?! Haha). But in case I haven't said it enough I'm super excited haha.

Tonight  have another organic chemistry exam that I've been studying for the past few days. I honestly cannot wait for it to be over. Organic chemistry just manages to stress me out to the max :/. Oh well, after tonight I'll be free :). Today it was really cloudy, sort of rainy, and cold. Now it's finally getting sunny outside, but I took these pictures earlier today. It was a leggings and a cup of tea kind of day :).

Knit Scarf

Heyyy!! So today is pretty chilly and windy. It was also sort of drizzling earlier...annddd all that makes me excuse myself from taking pictures outside haha. I am not a big fan of winter weather when I'm outside a temperature controlled building haha. I love looking at the snow, but once I'm out in it I'm freezing and not happy. I'm such a sissy when it comes to cold :/. The past few days have been spent studying for my organic chemistry exam tomorrow :(. So wish me a bunch of luck with that! I'll need all the help I can get. Today was definitely a glasses and comfort day. I'm wearing my favorite and most comfortable shoes ever! My Adidas Superstars (I think you all know my obsession by now haha). Leggings from Lululemon (again another favorite). A cozy knit top from BrandyMelville, and super soft and warm scarf from Aerie, and this green jacket. Pretty much all my go-to pieces when I want to look cute, but still be comfy. Hope you all have a great day!

Hiking in the Woods

Hello and happy Saturday everyone! Today I got up early with the hopes of being able to finish enough of my homework to go hang out with some of my sisters today, but my organic chemistry has managed to ruin my fun plans once again. Sometimes I wonder if these hard classes are even worth it because my social life is almost nonexistent anymore :/. But moving on to a happier topic. Thursday was absolutely gorgeous out so Ryan and I decided to go hiking through some of the trails close to campus. It was super fun and peaceful and beautiful. The contrast of colors between the trees that had shed their leaves and green underbrush was really cool. We found this awesome rope bridge that I had him take some pictures of me on :). So a nice shout out to him haha for putting up with my blogging. On the way back we found this house that was built in 1802 I think, and one of the men from the historical society told us about it's history. It was really cool! Especially because it was two stories, which is almost unheard of in Ohio during that point in time. We were pretty much the frontier at that point haha. And here comes my favorite part... We saw these two adorable horses in one of the pastures! I love horses! I think they are so beautiful, and they just amaze me. So I fed them an apple I had brought in case I got hungry :). After I took a bite or two first haha. The one even stamped his/her foot at me when I went in for a bite haha. Such a funny horse :). They really did need a good bath or brushing though. They looked like they had been playing in the mud!

A Different Kind of Pizza

Hello everyone! I know it's a little late for an update, but I was out today exploring nature on a hike for a few hours with my boyfriend :). It has been gorgeous weather lately, and we just had to take advantage of it! So there will definitely be pictures from that adventure to come. Today I thought I would share with you a pizza I made last week. It was a pizza in the traditional sense where there is the dough, red sauce, and then cheese and toppings. I originally found this recipe on one of my favorite blogger's sites, Kristine Ullebø. She is a Norwegian blogger with a great blog and you should definitely check her out! It's called Ullebø Pizza  (and that link will take you directly to her recipe). Her blog is in Norwegian so I just copy and paste into Google Translate :). She uses something called curd? I don't know if we have that in America, but I placed ricotta cheese on the dough to start out with, then the pesto. I then placed the onions, arugula, corn, chicken and paprika on top of that. Finally, I covered the top in shredded mozzarella cheese. It was absolutely amazing! I took this picture after my sorority sisters and I got to it haha. And the whole pan was full of pizza before! This is a must try recipe! I'm drooling just thinking about it now haha.

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

Hello readers! I am so excited for this school day to be over. Sometimes I think that even though I'm learning a whole lot of very fascinating things in lectures and labs, I'm missing some of the big picture. In science, so much time is spent on the very small, very minute differences and similarities between reactions, organisms, and the forces that cause them. Don't get me wrong, this is all very important and interesting, and it's also the reason we can accomplish as much as we do with all of our technology and medicine. But sometimes I think the big picture of broader concepts and how we are interconnected to each other gets lost in all the small details. I'm not even sure if I'm making sense right now haha. But do you ever experience that feeling when you are completely surrounded by nature that you are in awe of how large everything is and how small you are, but yet you are very interconnected with each other? Or when you are in shavasana after a yoga session and you feel to be completely made up of energy flowing through you, as if your body has seized to physically exist and instead be replaced by that flowing energy? Or that humbling experience when you see the sun rise or set in the most perfect manner and realize it will continue to do so even when you are gone? These are the things I think many people are missing when they wake up, go to class or work, and just get suck in the monotony the routine. I want to be a well rounded person, with a well rounded life. And I hope one day I can say that about myself :). This post got a little more deep than I intended haha. Well I hope you enjoy these thoughts and question you're own life :).

Also, this is actually my Halloween costume from Saturday! Isn't it just super fun and pretty?! I wish I could dress like this everyday haha. But freezing cold Ohio will make sure I bring out my giant parka in a few weeks :/.
