Army Green Romper

Hello! As promised, here are some outfit photos with my face in them! Amazing I know haha. Today my sister and I went downtown to visit my mom for lunch. But before we met her, we went to take some pictures by this cool building we found (Let me know if you want to see some of the ones I took of Alyssa!). For lunch, we went to this event called Walnut Wednesday. This is where they have a bunch of food trucks come and line up on Walnut Street by my mom's office downtown. I'm sorry I didn't get any pictures of the food. I got a crêpe that was super messy! And super yummy :) But I wasn't able to hold my phone and keep all the filling from spilling all over me haha. And now here is today's outfit. This romper is from Urban Outfitters. I got it about a week or two ago, and I have been obsessed with it! I'm loving the high neckline, the color, and wait for it...the open back!! It has definitely been a favorite on these past few super hot days. The fabric is light weight and breathable. It also doesn't really show sweat stains (but I really don't sweat that much tbh). Anyway, this one is a definite keeper :)

Hope you're having a lovely day! Hugs <3

Tan Lines and Pool Days

Hello! Here are some pictures from yesterday. Sorry I did not get my face in them, but I have been trying really hard to not wash my hair very much lately. So it's a greasy mess (yucky!). But I promise tomorrow I will have pictures with my face :).

Mermaid tailing it pool side haha. (Seriously though, can I be a mermaid please?)

First off, isn't the water the prettiest shade of blue?! This whole week has been absolutely gorgeous outside! It's been super hot and sunny (my favorite combination :D). So I decided to show you how my tan lines are fairing haha. I love it when I can see such a difference in my skin color haha. It just looks so weird!

Today I'm going shopping with a friend to get an outfit for the Tim McGraw concert this Friday! I'm so excited! I haven't been to a country concert all year, and country concerts are such a huge thing in northeastern Ohio. I guess we're a little bit more in the middle of nowhere than we like to think haha. But they're such a good time! Good friends, good music, dancing on the bed of a pick-up truck (haha okay now even I'll admit that sounds like a hick haha). But anyway, I've got some great posts coming up later this week, and some super exciting posts this weekend! So stay tuned for something I've been dying to share with you for forever!! Also, check out my Instagram (@jessica_simon10)  Sunday morning for a sneak peak at what I'm going to reveal before I post on the blog later that day. As always, Hugs <3

Eggs for Breakfast

Good morning! I thought I would begin the week with a little post about breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite way to begin the day (besides my morning run). I always have to have something to eat around 10:00 am in the morning otherwise I just don't function well :/. One of my favorite things to have for breakfast is eggs. They fill me up for such a long time, and I think they taste amazing! (especially with avocado) Seriously a match made in heaven *definite hearts in eyes*. So when I was watching Kallie Kaiser's get ready with me video and saw that she had a recipe involving eggs and avocado, I had to try it! It is a great alternative to eating toast with eggs, which is what I normally do. So instead of the toast, you lay down a bed of spinach on the plate. Then cut up most of one half of an avocado (enough to cover the bed of spinach). I like my eggs over-easy, so they cook really fast. It's super hard to not break the yolk when flipping the egg over though, but today I managed to not break the yolk! :). I was super proud of myself guys haha. So when the egg is done you just place it on top of the avocado and spinach bed. And then you enjoy! Hugs <3

Blue Nails

Good morning! I am of course rushing to get this post out because I woke up today and realized I didn't have anything for a Sunday post! So I got myself out of bed (a crime I know haha) and took some pictures of my nails. I have been obsessing over the pastel blue nail trend! And usually I'm very anti-blue nail polish, so this is weird for me. I think they are so perfect for summer. The cool tones just remind me of a warm, sunny day at a pool or beach. So basically the perfect day in my opinion haha. Let me know what you think about the blue nail polish trend! Cool or naw?? Haha

Have a great Sunday! Hugs <3

50's Inspired Outift

Hey there! So today was amazing because I got out of chemistry lab 2 hours early! This is almost unheard of as I'm usually there until 15 minutes after the class is supposed to end :/. Welcome to chemistry people haha. Today is super gorgeous outside! It actually makes me want to go in to work. Crazy, I know. But for as busy as this summer has been with work and school, I've been really happy with how things have turned out (sorry about that jump in topic, but school, work, and summer got me thinking about this). I have good friends that I have had so many laughs with. I have worked my butt off in chemistry, at my job, and on this blog. I really cannot wait to continue my posts once I get to college. I think I have grown a lot in the past few months. I'm no longer self conscious of taking pictures of myself in front of people haha. I mean I know it's weird, but it's something I really enjoy. I can document what I looked like that day, along with what I did...and then maybe someone will like to read about it when I post it haha. I really haven't got a clue why any of you read my blog because I swear I'm not that cool guys haha. But I'm glad you enjoy what I put up here, because I enjoy blogging. So a big thank you to you all :).

And now for the outfit (because that's probably why you are all here haha). The top is a few years old from Nordstrom. I used to pair it with the bright blue pants, and it was super cute on a younger girl. I'm not so sure I could pull that off now haha. The shorts are Vintage Levi's from Etsy. Super cute and super easy. Although, they are sort of big on me. I really should see if I can get them taken in... The headband is from FreePeople (it's also a few years old). And finally the shoes are my mom's from Keds. These shoes are seriously so old. I swear my mom has probably had these since the 90s haha (or early 2000s at the least).

Also, I am so sorry these pictures have terrible focus. I really hate putting up bad pictures, but I couldn't not show you this outfit. I hope you can get the gist of it anyway. Hugs <3

Emotions in Nude

Hello! Today I actually wasn't going to post anything because I really should be studying, but I got distracted and did my makeup. So of course I couldn't let an opportunity go to waste. I didn't have any outfit to photograph, so I decided to do a bit of a different kind of shoot. Here I focused on the emotions in the face, with a nude background, nude makeup, and no bright clothing. I really enjoyed how this turned out. Let me know what you think about it.

P. S. I am wearing a bandeau in these pictures haha. Hugs <3

Casual Summer Outfit

Hellooo! Today has been a pretty good day so far, except for the fact that I couldn't fall asleep last night so I woke up super tired this morning for class. It was such a struggle keeping my eyes open! And I didn't even have time to go get coffee because I walked around my bedroom like a zombie trying to figure what clothes even were haha. But now I have finally woken up (although coffee would still be an amazing addition to today...maybe I'll get some after work?). Today it is absolutely gorgeous out! The sun is shining, it's soo hot, and I can't wait to get my tan on at work later. One of the best things about my job is that it's outside. I hate being inside during the summer! I feel like it is such a waste of beautiful weather, free time from school work, all the cute summer outfit combinations, having so many laughs with friends!....I'm sorry I could really list so many things I love about summer, but I'm really trying to cut back on the 'I LOVE SUMMER' talk on the blog haha.

Here is a little outfit I threw together because I realized I still hadn't shown you this top I got forever ago (well early summer), and I completely meant to post it. So now you see it :). It's super soft and comfy! And it's not too tight. This is definitely one of the comfiest shirts I own. I can't wait to use it on campus in the fall because cute and comfy is definitely a must when sitting through hour and a half long lectures.

Sunglasses from Ray-Bans, necklace I forget where it's from, t-shirt from American Eagle Outfitters, shorts from Urban Outfitters, shoes from Converse (but these are super old).

Tonight I'm going to the drive in to see a movie with a friend. Maybe I'll take some pictures and show you tomorrow. Hugs <3

Dinner with the Girls

Good morning! So finally, here are the pictures from my dinner night with my sorority sisters :). Seriously though, how gorgeous are they?! We all looked soo nice and pretty all dressed up for the evening. Dinner was so much fun! We had so many laughs, and told some great stories. I'm so excited I get to be living with them all next year! This is not all of my sorority sisters, just most of the girls in my pledge class from the Cleveland area. In total I think there are about 70 girls in my pledge class? But it was definitely nice to see some of the girls who live here locally :). As always when at the Cheesecake Factory, we all got cheesecake for dessert. I got my usual banana cheesecake :). It was soo yummy! I did manage to give myself a stomach ache from eating so much though haha. Oh well. Good food and good friends. What more could a girl ask for?

From left to right you have Alexis, Kenzie, Molly, McKenna, me, Sam, and Marissa.
(Yes I am indeed that short haha)

These pictures were taken with a phone, so I'm sorry the quality isn't the best. But you can at least see something from the evening :).

Brandy Melville Shirt

Good morning and happy Sunday! I know Sunday's are the typical day where we relax in snuggle clothes and watch a few episodes of Gossip Girl on the couch. But today I thought I'd give you a little outfit inspo from earlier this week. I was feeling like trying out a style that I don't normally wear, and it was totally fun! I love trying out new trends. This is one I have definitely fallen in love with. It's definitely a style that is super popular now, but I had never really tried it out. And now I must say I'm hooked. It's super comfy! This shirt is soo soft! But that's how everything from Brandy Melville is :). The shorts aren't super tight or so short that they're riding up my butt (I'm sure you all know what I mean). My hair is out of my face! I hate having my hair in my face! I always end up putting it in a pony tail or braid by the end of the day. And then, comfy tennis shoes in a fun color to top it all off :) Overall, this outfit is totally a win for me.

That awkward moment when your neighbors totally stare at you for taking pictures of yourself....yes that happens, and it's soo uncomfortable haha.

Shirt from Brandy Melville, Shorts from Urban Outfitters, Sunglasses from Ray Ban, Shoes from Target

Sisters on the Beach

Hellloooo! So today I was scrolling through the pictures on my laptop, as I like to do sometimes to just see how I have changed in the past few months (it is really crazy how much I have changed haha). But I saw that I hadn't posted all the pictures from my Port Clinton trip that I wanted to show you! So I immediately had to right that wrong and post these pictures. Especially the ones of Alyssa (my sister) and I. Because hello! She is too pretty to not show on the blog haha.

So indie, so Lys haha. My sister is obsessed with being 'indie'. And so I took this picture of her to satisfy her need to be indie haha. Needless to say, she posted this picture on Instagram minutes after I edited it :)

Tonight I'm going out to dinner with some of my sorority sisters! We are going to The Cheesecake Factory, and I am so excited! The calorie intake will be ridiculous, but that cheesecake is soo worth it every once in awhile. Mmmm yummy in my tummy! I should get some pictures from tonight, and hopefully I'll be able to show you tomorrow :) Hugs <3

Vintage Levis and Stripped Crop Top

Hello! First off, I'm so sorry I haven't posted the last two days! I had a chemistry exam today (which is finally over woohoo!!) that I really needed to put all my energy into studying for. I'm not sure it will pay off, but I worked my butt off. I just couldn't seem to grasp the material no matter how much I looked at it and practiced the calculations. Does that ever happen to you guys? It's seriously the worst! But now that it's over I can breathe again :). After I got home from class, I decided I really needed to put some effort into taking some cool pictures for you. So I hope you get inspired by this little outfit I put together. I think it's so cute! I actually stole this top from my sister's closet, and now I'm actually considering purchasing my own because I like it so much haha. And then of course, high waisted vintage Levis. I don't think anything says casual summer outfit better than these beauties.

Shorts are Vintage Levis from Etsy, Crop top from Forever21, Lipstick from Nars Color: Cruella

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Hugs <3

Stripped Tank Top

Hello readers! Today I'm going to give you an outfit post because I really haven't been doing much with my life besides working. And who really wants to hear about that? I took these pictures on the Fourth of July because I thought the blue and white tank top with the red shoes was so patriotic haha. Usually I'm not one to go with the whole American theme, but for those of you who love it, this is for you haha. I wish I could have worn this to the party I went to after work. But by the time I was ready to go, it had gotten quite chilly, and I was forced to wear long sleeves :(. But I absolutely love this tank top! Just check out that open back guys! It's just so pretty! I think it'll finally be getting warm enough the next few weeks were I can walk around in tank tops like this one and be comfortable. We've had a really cold summer here. Luckily it hasn't interferred too much with my tan haha.

Tank top from Urban Outfitters, shorts are old, shoes from Target

Gotta love those tan lines haha. Hugs <3

Summer Workout Routine

Hello! So today I thought I would show you some pictures of my workout routine that I do during the summer. For some reason I'm always in the best shape during the summer, therefore, I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite exercises :). Before you say, "But Jess, all these pictures were taken inside. I thought this was supposed to be a summer workout routine." It was raining like crazy all day yesterday (when I took these photos :/). I really was hoping that I would be able to give you some nice outside pictures, but mother nature said otherwise. And without further ado, let's get into it.

First off, I love listening to music while I run, especially when I run outside. However, if I'm using a treadmill I usually end up watching YouTube videos while I'm running. It makes the time go way faster!

If I work out, I almost always do some form of cardio. I typically workout 5-6 days a week, and most of those include cardio. However, I like to switch up the forms of cardio I do. If I'm running short on time, I do intervals on the treadmill. I put the treadmill on speed 7.8 mph, with an incline of 2.0. Then, for 20 minutes I run intervals. I'll run for 30 seconds, and then I use the bars to lift my feet off the conveyer belt and place them on the sides to rest for the next 30 seconds. It definitely makes you sweat, and you totally feel it afterwards. If I have more time or I feel like having an easier workout, I will usually take my dog on a 35-45 minute fast paced walk through my neighborhood. This is actually more tiring than it sounds haha. And then sometimes I just feel like going for a 25-30 minute jog through my neighborhood.

Tada! All done with running! No better feeling on the planet :)

Usually before I go to bed I do 50 squats and 50 calf raises. I cannot even say how much this really helps my legs and butt in the summer.

Some days I'll just do my favorite abs video and no cardio (or if I'm feeling really adventurous, I'll do both!). The video is the Insanity Workout Cardio Abs. I love it because it not only gives me amazing results (I mean I've never gotten a six-pack from it, but it totally helps reduce belly fat, and makes your core stronger), but it's also a full body workout. It incorporates a variety of movements that not only work your abs, but your entire core. Talk about a win! (I'm not actually watching the video in this picture. I just thought I would share one of the moves with you)

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! Have an awesome summer! (And yes, I did match my sport bra to my shorts haha no shame ;P) Hugs <3
